Highlights of Recent Loan Forgiveness Guidance 08/21/2020 VIRTUAL The Paycheck Protection Program continues to weigh heavily on bank policy, operations and customer relations. The vast majority of banks have shifted their attention from generating PPP loans to managing the documentation and process for forgiveness application. However, continually evolving guidance and unique borrower circumstances have left many banks with questions about whether or not their borrowers will receive forgiveness. This webinar presentation will cover new SBA Guidance based on the Loan Forgiveness Applications published on June 16, 2020 and subsequent Interim Final Rules and SBA Procedural Notices. The presenters from Thompson Coburn will draw upon their experiences to outline common pitfalls and practices for bank customers. Libor & Critical Accounting Issues 08/27/2020 VIRTUAL 2020 continues to be a year dominated by uncertainty and change. The CARES Act has dominated the focus of bankers and businesses, and accounting guidance has been difficult to track and implement. At the same time, we have also moved inevitably toward the LIBOR transition, a topic that has fallen into the background for many financial institutions. As we head into the final two quarters of the year, it will be critical for banks to ensure that they are prepared for major accounting issues related to the CARES Act (1.0 and 2.0) and the upcoming LIBOR transition to prepare for 2021. Safe Deposit Webinar 09/10/2020 Online Seminar Should you phase out your safe deposit service NOW? Many nationwide mega banks are phasing out their safe deposit services and not installing any boxes in new branches. They regard them as a headache, expensive to install, complicated to operate and maintain and not very lucrative. There is an estimated 30 million safe deposit boxes now rented in thousands of financial institutions. These boxes are offered to consumers within a highly regulated industry, but there are very few laws governing how to run a safe deposit operation. There also are no guidelines to follow if a financial institution decides to eliminate this service. This presentation provides answers for the most frequently asked phasing-out questions and addresses the many important pros and cons for continuing or discontinuing this service. Add to Calendar
