Construction Disbursement Coordinator

The Missouri Housing Development Commission seeks a construction disbursement coordinator to join its Kansas City office. MHDC is responsible for administering numerous federal and state affordable housing-related programs targeted to Missourians with extremely low to moderate incomes.

  • Responsibilities
    • support MHDC in administering the federal and Missouri Low-Income Housing Tax Credit programs and associated financing for the construction of affordable housing
    • assist in the oversight of tax credits, federal HOME funds and federal National Housing Trust Fund funds for the creation of quality market-appropriate affordable housing 
    • process incoming construction draw requests in accordance with MHDC Construction Disbursement Guide and federal regulations
    • manage monthly construction interest billing for affordable housing development construction loans
    • coordinate with the legal department to ensure all construction disbursement and tax credit requirements are being met for each construction and conversion loan closing
    • review each project’s contractor and developmental cost certifications for completeness and compliance with MHDC and federal guidelines 
    • reconcile the construction disbursement financial records 
    • create, maintain and regularly reconcile forms with tax credit and funding information 
    • maintain up-to-date tax credit and affordable housing finance knowledge of applicable state and federal tax laws, statutes, regulations and legal decisions 
    • perform calculations based on state and federal tax requirements
  • Qualifications
    • bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, public policy, public administration, community or economic development or related field of study
    • one or more years of experience in mortgage lending, multifamily and/or single-family housing loan origination, banking, real estate, accounting, loan or mortgage administration, credit analysis or investigation, financial administrative work, law or finance
