After six weeks of session, the Missouri Senate remains in gridlock. The upper chamber has yet to approve a single bill this year. Senate leadership brought a bill to the floor this week, but it was laid over after a few hours when a point of order was raised on an amendment offered during floor debate.
The Missouri Credit Union Association will host its advocacy day next week. Hundreds of credit union employees and members will be at the Capitol to lobby for an expansion to their current field of membership law. House Bill 2452 and Senate Bill 846 have not had hearings yet, but credit union supporters will certainly be making that push.
MBA strongly encourages all bankers to register for Target Bankers. We need strong representation inside the Capitol to discuss the credit union issue, as well as the bills we are supporting, with lawmakers. The following provides a quick update on some of the measures MBA supports this session.
