As part of MBA's centennial celebration in 1990, the association commissioned three paintings to become a gift to citizens of Missouri. L. Edward Fisher, a well-known St. Louis maritime artist, received the commission for the project.

The paintings depict the Jefferson City area in 1804, 1904 and 2004. All the paintings are from the same vantage point on the north bank of the Missouri River, so the "trilogy" becomes a time lapse presentation in oil paintings. The three paintings are hanging at the James C. Kirkpatrick State Information Center in Jefferson City.

Limited-edition signed and numbered prints of all three paintings are available for sale to the public.
