Advocacy Boot Camp

Bankers participating in MBA’s inaugural Advocacy Boot Camp on Oct. 6, 2026, found themselves immersed in the legislative environment as they learned strategies to effectively share their banks’ stories with lawmakers. Bankers participated in interactive exercises and a mock legislative debate. They also heard how to effectively express their views to state legislators from Sen. Sandy Crawford, R-Buffalo; Jason Crowell with The Bank of Missouri in Cape Girardeau, who served two terms in the Missouri Senate and House of Representatives; and Keith Pritchard with Security Bank of Pulaski County in Waynesville, who is running for the Missouri House.

As one participant noted, “I have been interested in learning more about advocacy for some time, and the boot camp was the perfect opportunity to gain the resources I felt I needed to take a next step.” Another shared that they gained a “thorough understanding of everything involved in a visit to talk to legislators, both that day and behind the scenes.”
