Fair lending issues are continuing to surface in the banking industry, despite best efforts by bankers to guard against violations and allegations of discrimination.
Issues that will be discussed in this one-hour webinar include the following.
- regulatory overview – Regulation B, Fair Housing Act, CRA, UDAAP
- key definitions and general requirements
- regulatory agencies' expectations for internal or external fair lending assessments
- prohibited base problem areas
- relationship between fair lending concerns and CRA ratings
- lessons learned from enforcement actions
Who Should Attend
The program will cover compliance, lending and risk management considerations. Banks may want to have compliance, legal, management and lending personnel attend. Participants may submit written questions during the webinar.
Chuck Lewis, CRCM, is vice president, compliance services for the MBA and is available to help MBA members with BSA, HMDA and compliance reviews, in-bank training and other compliance services. Chuck has conducted hundreds of compliance and BSA reviews for banks across the country.
