The Missouri Bankers Association asked its members for help, and they responded whole-heartedly.
Thanks to the generosity of banks, their employees and community members, $26,993.57 was donated to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. Established by the Texas Bankers Association and the Independent Bankers Association of Texas, the fund supports relief efforts for the thousands of people displaced and harmed by the storm, including bank employees and their families.
MBA donated $10,000 to the fund.
In addition, many banks and bankers contributed to other Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Central Bank of the Ozarks and Central Bank of St. Louis set up a special fund to accept monetary donations for Convoy of Hope, a faith-based, international, humanitarian-relief organization in Springfield.
“We wanted to give customers and the public a convenient and safe way to make donations to support the victims of this ongoing disaster,” said Russ Marquart, CEO and president of Central Bank of the Ozarks.
The bank also donated to the Convoy of Hope fund. To date, $40,598 has been collected.
MBA thanks its members and their communities for helping Texans to rebuild their homes and communities.
