Teladoc is a network of board-certified physicians that provide phone/web-based consultations 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Teladoc physicians use the member’s provided medical information and phone/web-based consultation to diagnose; recommend treatment; and write short-term, non-controlled substance prescriptions, when appropriate. Teladoc physicians treat common, minor illnesses such as: cold and flu, poison ivy, sinus infection, urinary tract infection, sore throat, pink eye, respiratory infections, allergies, and bronchitis. MBA VEBA also offers Teladoc’s behavioral health services (not available for minors; behavioral health visits can only be scheduled online or through the app and cannot be scheduled through the call center).
MBA VEBA medical plan participants can call Teladoc whenever they need non-emergency medical assistance (e.g., when their physician is not available; after normal physician office hours of operation; for non-emergency medical care; when on vacation or a business trip).
