GAP Program 

Guaranteed Asset Protection, also known as GAP, is a debt cancellation product that financial institutions are allowed to market to their customers. GAP is an addendum to the loan contract that will pay a benefit in the event the collateral is involved in a total constructive loss (physical damage or unrecovered theft) and the outstanding loan balance is greater than the actual cash value of the collateral. GAP pays the difference between the Actual Cash Value (ACV) and the loan balance at the time the event occurred. The benefit also includes the primary insurance carrier's deductible up to $1,000.00.
